Born and raised in Kansas City as the daughter of an art professor and step daughter of an art history professor, art and culture was a way of life rather than a conscious choice.

Tracey has been pursuing her career in the visual arts since 1985.  She has a BFA in painting and also a degree in design.  She has studied in France and Italy.

Her work has always been focused on color and emotional response.  She has shifted from expressionistic landscapes towards more abstracted compositions.

"As I get older, balance it becoming really important to me. In my paintings I like to use opposites like primitive/technical, smooth/rough, material/spiritual, vertical/horizontal, etc...and put them together or balance them to make them work."
